With Jamal Lewis intending to retire, the Browns almost certainly will be in the market for a running back in the offseason. In fact, it wouldn't be a surprise if multiple backs were added to the roster. The Browns' top backup, Jerome Harrison, is slated to be an unrestricted free agent if the 2010 league year is played with a salary cap. And while rookie RB James Davis flashed promise before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury, he is untested. (Even in the increasingly unlikely event Lewis were to return, he would be entering the final year of his contract, and he will be 31 next August.) The biggest wild card of all, of course, is owner Randy Lerner's intent to hire an executive to oversee the club's football operations, a move that could lead to changes throughout the organization, including the coaching staff. Indeed, conditions are ripe for some turnover in the Cleveland backfield.

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the second issue being released later this month. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues.
