Is Bears TE Greg Olsen, who had three TD catches last week against the Cardinals, finally ready to meet the fantasy expectations so many had for him at the start of the season? Olsen, who never had a multi-TD game before last week, faces a banged-up Niners safety corps, with SS Michael Lewis battling concussion issues recently.
Niners TE Vernon Davis, who poses a major fantasy threat against a bruised and battered Bears safety corps (Kevin Payne is out, and Al Afalava is iffy), is coming off another huge effort (10-102-0 last week). Davis is only 32 yards short of the career-best 509 yards he compiled in 2007.
You have to keep on playing Colts TE Dallas Clark regardless of the team he's facing. After catching a career-high 14 passes for 119 yards last week against Houston, Clark is on pace to catch 120 passes, which would totally shatter the single-season league record for receptions by a tight end.
A big-time fantasy sleeper these days is Cardinals TE Ben Patrick, who has scored TDs in back-to-back games for the first time in his career. He's been limited in practice this week (knee) but expects to play Sunday against Seattle.
Packers TE Jermichael Finley (knee) is considered 50-50 for Dallas but had yet to practice as of Thursday.
No surprise here: Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez should be in your lineup against Carolina. He had seven catches for 71 yards and a TD against them in Week Two and should be able to beat whichever safety or linebacker he's matched up against.
Raiders TE Zach Miller's numbers have been up-and-down this year, and he still is stuck on one TD — the same number he had at the end of last season — but we hesitantly endorse playing him in leagues of 12 teams or more this week. The Chiefs are giving up 25.6 points per game and the third-most passing yards in the league (252.2), so Miller should be able to pick up decent yardage numbers.
Ravens TE Todd Heap has not caught a TD pass since Week Two, and he has only exceeded 50 yards once in Baltimore's last six games. He's having more of an impact on the Baltimore offense than he did last season, but less than in his heyday, making him a fantasy backup at best.
Bengals TE J.P. Foschi is getting more and more playing time, and he snagged 2-32-0 last week in Cincy's win vs. Baltimore. However, he's primarily a blocker in the Bengals' offense and has little fantasy value.
