Matchups to exploit

Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown has been stuck in a rut lately, not running for more than 48 yards in any of his last three games. He should go well beyond that number this week, though, against the Buccaneers, who are allowing 163.4 rushing yards per game and 4.8 yards per carry. Ricky Williams, who has four TDs in his last three outings, deserves a spot in lineups, as well.

Before his Week Nine bye, Jets QB Mark Sanchez had a stellar outing, throwing for 265 yards and two scores vs. Miami. He'll get an even easier opponent this Sunday in the Jaguars, whose shaky secondary just got burned by the Chiefs last week and has now surrendered 15 TD passes. Expect Sanchez to pick them apart, connecting often with WRs Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery.

Now that RB Larry Johnson has been released by Kansas City, the Chiefs' backfield belongs to Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith. Although this pair combined for only 10 carries last week, they should see quite a bit more work Sunday at Oakland. The Raiders are giving up 161 rushing yards per contest and have yielded 13 scores on the ground. Expect K.C. to focus much more on the running game this week, giving both Charles and Smith a chance for success.

At age 40, Vikings QB Brett Favre is having a vintage season, already tossing 16 TD passes compared to just three interceptions. Fresh off a bye, he should keep rolling Sunday vs. the Lions, who are getting lit up for 263.1 passing yards per game and have allowed 19 scoring tosses. With Detroit likely loading up to stop the run, Favre should pick them apart, as WRs Bernard Berrian, Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin all get in on the act.

Matchups to avoid

Even though the Ravens' run "D" has struggled at times this season, they still boast one of the toughest defensive fronts around, giving up 3.5 yards per carry and having yielded only five rushing TDs in 2009. That's bad news for Browns RB Jamal Lewis, who has announced this will be his final pro season. Lewis might have a few good games left in the tank, but don't expect one from him come Monday night.

Titans QB Vince Young has played fairly well since taking over the starting job two games ago, leading his team to its first two victories of the season. However, he could be in for a rough day against Buffalo. The Bills have a whopping 15 INTs, are allowing less than 200 passing yards per game and have given up just six TDs through the air. Look for Young to have a quiet outing as Tennessee just runs all over the Bills.

Tampa Bay finally posted its first win of 2009 last week against the Packers, but it wasn't because of the club's running game. The Bucs ran for just 81 yards in that tilt, and they could have similar struggles this Sunday at Miami, which is letting up only 94.5 rushing yards per contest. Both Cadillac Williams and Derrick Ward are unlikely to get much going vs. the Dolphins' defensive front.

After throwing just one INT in his first seven outings, Broncos QB Kyle Orton came unraveled Monday night, tossing three picks against the Steelers. Unfortunately for Orton, things won't get any simpler this week at Washington. The Redskins feature the league's No. 1 pass defense, giving up a scant 159.9 yards per game and surrendering only seven passing TDs. Keep the Denver signalcaller on your bench for this one.
