The Browns placed ILB Eric Barton on injured reserve on Tuesday. Barton reportedly has a bulging disc in his neck.

Barton, 32, notched 58 tackles in eight games this season. In October, the Browns lost their other starting inside linebacker, D'Qwell Jackson, to a season-ending shoulder injury. David Bowens is likely to be one of the starters inside, with veteran Blake Costanzo and rookies Kaiuka Maiava and David Veikune other options.

In other Browns news, the club made a pair of practice-squad moves, signing RB Thomas Brown and releasing WR Darnell Jenkins.
