While the chances of Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin playing through his ankle injury Sunday looked bleak earlier this week, the news might not be so bad, after all. After sitting out practice Wednesday and Thursday, Boldin returned in a limited manner Friday and came out of the workout OK, giving him a shot to face the Bears. He's officially listed as questionable, however, so owners will need to check on his status prior to kickoff before deploying him. If Boldin can't go, Steve Breaston would start in his place and would be a very viable fantasy option.
Much like Boldin, Bears WR Devin Hester (ankle) and Falcons WR Roddy White (knee) both did not practice this week until Friday. But unlike Boldin, each is fully expected to be in the starting lineup this Sunday. Hester, who is listed as questionable, probably won't be at 100 percent, but all signs point to him facing Arizona this week. Given the favorable matchup, he belongs in fantasy lineups. White, meanwhile, is also considered questionable but almost surely will be in starting lineup against the Redskins come Sunday. Washington is very good defending the pass, but White has too much potential to leave on the bench.
It appears that Eagles RB Brian Westbrook's concussion is only going to cost him one game. After suffering a hard blow to the head in Week Seven and subsequently sitting out last Sunday, Westbrook was able to practice Wednesday and Thursday before being given Friday off. Officially, he's questionable for Sunday night's game vs. the Cowboys, but head coach Andy Reid has said he will play. Westbrook's upside makes him worth putting back in your lineup this week. LeSean McCoy, meanwhile, will return to a backup role and likely won't have much value this week.
Owners of Lions WR Calvin Johnson might have reason to be excited this week. After a knee injury cost him the past two contests, Johnson was able to practice in a limited capacity all week and likely will be back on the field Sunday at Seattle. If he's active, he's definitely a strong fantasy play. RB Kevin Smith is also banged up for Detroit with a bad shoulder, but he's practiced the past two days and should be in the starting lineup this week. He could get a fair amount of work, so don't be afraid to use him. Since both are listed as questionable, be sure to confirm their status Sunday before finalizing your lineup.
After looking good on Wednesday and Thursday, Colts RB Donald Brown surprisingly sat out Friday's practice due to his shoulder injury and now is considered questionable for Sunday's tilt with the Texans. The injury forced Brown to miss last week's game, and it looks like he'll be a game-time decision this time around. If he's active, he'll likely split carries with Joseph Addai, making them both low-end starting options. Also questionable for Indy is WR Pierre Garcon, who missed practice on Friday with an ankle injury. Since his play has fallen off lately, Garcon might be better off on your bench this week even if he's active.
Other key skill players listed as questionable this week include: Patriots TE Ben Watson (back), Bucs WR Antonio Bryant (knee), Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (Achilles) and Panthers WR Muhsin Muhammad (knee). Saints WR Lance Moore (ankle) and Packers TE Jermichael Finley (knee) have already been declared out.
