After the loss to the Broncos, the Patriots were ranked an uncharacteristic — for them, anyway — ninth in yards and 17th in points per game. And though the passing game was producing yards, the big plays were not there. In two games since, against lowly Tennessee and Tampa Bay, the Patriots looked like the 2007 team that scored 589 points and demolished even good defenses. So which version will we see in the second half? The answer, according to our sources, is probably somewhere in the middle. The offense started slowly for a variety of reasons, including Tom Brady's recovery from injury, the lack of a No. 3 receiver and a stagnant run game. Those issues have cleared up mostly, but a number of respectable defenses remain on the schedule. One key will be the development of the offensive line; Bill Belichick has said that it needs to do a better job, especially in the run game.

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the second issue being released later this month. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues.
