Welcome to Week Nine of the 2009 NFL season. Each week I'll be revealing my Stock Exchange starting lineup to you, analyzing the players I've purchased, how much I paid for them and their matchup for that week. I'll also be including the starting lineups of five other PFW editors to give you a good idea of which players we like in that week's slate of games. Hopefully this analysis will help you make the best possible lineup and get you on your way to winning the $2,500 grand prize. Good luck!

Team Blunda

Saints QB Drew Brees ($44.01) vs. Panthers
He turned the ball over twice last week, but Brees still came through with a typical performance, throwing for 308 yards and two scores under the bright lights on Monday night. His matchup gets tougher this week when he faces the Panthers' league-best pass defense, but he's too good to let it have a drastic effect on his numbers. Expect more of the same from the prolific passer.
Week purchased: Week Six

Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck ($16.02) vs. Lions
Whenever I need a bargain No. 2 QB, I always seem to come back to Hasselbeck, and he usually delivers. After racking up 249 yards and two TDs at Dallas last week, I don't see him being a letdown when he takes on Detroit this Sunday. The Lions have already given up a whopping 18 scoring passes, so Hasselbeck should have his way with them in this one.
Week purchased: Week Nine

Falcons RB Michael Turner ($25.40) vs. Redskins
It doesn't seem like Turner is having a great year, but his numbers say otherwise. Not only does he already have eight TDs, but he's scored in each of his last six games. Coming off his best rushing performance of the season, a 20-151-1 torching of the Saints, Turner's roll should continue this week against the Redskins, who are allowing 118.6 rushing yards per contest.
Week purchased: Week Nine

Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams ($16.98) at Saints
After sputtering somewhat out of the gate, Williams has been back to his 2008 form lately. In his last three games, he has rushed for a massive 399 yards and three TDs on 69 carries for a 5.8-yard average. Even though the Saints have defended the run fairly well, Williams is hot enough that I'm not sure the opponent even matters at this point. He should find a way to produce.
Week purchased: Week Nine

Chargers WR Vincent Jackson ($24.35) at Giants
Although 2008 was his breakout campaign, Jackson has been even more impressive this season. In addition to his five TD catches, he already has four 100-yard outings and is gaining nearly 95 yards per game. The Giants' pass defense will definitely pose a challenge this week, but Jackson has come through against tough competition this year and should do so again Sunday night.
Week purchased: Week Nine

Cowboys WR Miles Austin ($12.62) at Eagles
Austin was due to cool off after his two monster games, but he still came through with a solid 5-61-1 effort vs. Seattle last week. Of course, a trip to Philly will easily be his most difficult test since joining the starting lineup, but he'll need to have a couple flops before I'd even consider parting with him. Plus, the Eagles have allowed 11 passing scores, so they're not unbeatable through the air.
Week purchased: Week Seven

Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker ($17.03) vs. Chiefs
Sims-Walker has now burned me twice this season (a surprise inactive in Week Five and a dud last Sunday), but for some reason I'm sticking with him. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that he's facing a Chiefs secondary this week that has surrendered 13 TD passes and is also banged up. Sims-Walker obviously brings risk, but this matchup is simply too good to ignore.
Week purchased: Week Eight

Eagles TE Brent Celek ($11.95) vs. Cowboys
The season-ending knee injury to Houston's Owen Daniels last week left me without a tight end, but I think I found a fine replacement in Celek. He's surprisingly been one of the league's best TEs this year, delivering nice fantasy production in all but one game. He's the preferred choice when the Eagles get in the red zone, and that should happen frequently this week against the Cowboys.
Week purchased: Week Nine

Seahawks PK Olindo Mare ($4.86) vs. Lions
Between his low price and his matchup with the Lions, Mare looked like a decent option. He's drilled 10 field goals on the season, including four in the range of 40-49 yards, and should get plenty of scoring opportunities this week as the Seahawks will move the ball with ease.
Week purchased: Week Nine

Green Bay Packers defense ($10.26) at Buccaneers
With 17 takeaways this season, the Packers are a pretty good fantasy defense as is. But when you factor in that they'll be facing rookie QB Josh Freeman Sunday in his first career start, they become a tremendous play this week. Expect Green Bay's talented secondary to cause all sorts of problems for Freeman and Co. in this one.
