Steelers CB William Gay may be most remembered for being on the wrong end of a collision with Vikings RB Adrian Peterson in Week Seven. However, the way we hear it, Gay has had a fine season otherwise. A willing tackler who notched a career-high nine tackles vs. Minnesota, Gay has been a capable replacement for the departed Bryant McFadden, who signed with Arizona in the offseason. Neither Gay nor LCB Ike Taylor (whose hands have long been panned) had made an interception entering Week Nine, but the Steelers' pass defense had help up well all the same, even with SS Troy Polamalu missing four games early in the season and teams attempting 37 passes per game in Pittsburgh's first seven games. "They just get solid ballplayers on the back end who don't make mistakes," said one evaluator, speaking on condition of anonymity, of Pittsburgh's cornerbacks.

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the second issue being released later this month. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues. This nonsensical article prompted me to register. Aside from Steelers 2 safeties, the secondary suck. They play 10-15 yards off a receiver and depend on the front 7 to create pressure to create a turnover. These corners are play it safe athletes who will allow anyone to pass 13 times for a touchdown instead of the big play. In other words, they are a die slow secondary who play keep everything in front of them ball. Just like the article mentioned, between the 2 of them, neither has an interception this late in the season. Please have the courage to tell the truth if you are gonna write articles. This is the same crap coaches sold fans last year about our offensive line playing well. However , the line has stepped up this year but the same couldn't be said last year. You have the responsibility to tell the truth and a novice can see Pittsburgh's corners are to be had. ie Taylor in both Super Bowls had more passes caught on him and he doesn't make plays on the ball. Gay is soft and he doesn't make any plays on the ball. Not 1 interception is inexcusable.
