Bears coaches and players insist there is nothing wrong with second-year RB Matt Forté, who clearly hasn't been as productive as he was in his rookie season. Forté's 3.5-yard average per carry through seven games is the same as it was a year ago at this time. And he continues to do a commendable job catching the ball out of the backfield and seldom blows assignments, although a failed blitz pickup against Cleveland in Week Eight got more than a few critics on his case. That said, team insiders have seen a different-looking back this season — and not for the better. "He's no Chris Johnson, but he just seemed quicker last year," said one team insider. "I've seen him maybe twice break a tackle this year. Teams were loading up in the box (against him) early in the year, but not so much lately. He did have a hamstring problem during the OTAs this offseason, but if there's something going on with him physically, the Bears, as usual, aren't saying."
