Packers RB Ryan Grant, who came down to earth against Minnesota last week after running wild the previous week against Cleveland (148 yards rushing and a TD), might see his fantasy stock skyrocket again thanks to a matchup against Tampa Bay's 30th-ranked run defense.

Bears RB Matt Forté, who will be looking to produce good back-to-back fantasy outings for the first time this season after gaining 90 yards and scoring a pair of TDs last week, goes up against a Cardinal run defense that imploded against Carolina, allowing Panthers RBs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart to combine for 245 yards on 40 carries (6.1 yards per carry) and two touchdowns.

It continues to be feast or famine for Niners RB Frank Gore, who bolstered his stats last week against the Colts with a 64-yard TD, his third score of over 60 yards this season. It's worth noting that, other than his TD run, Gore gained only 27 yards on his remaining 12 carries. But it's also worth noting that he will be facing a Titans defense that allowed Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew to gallop for TD runs of 80 and 79 yards last week.

Seahawks RB Julius Jones, who had 56 yards rushing and 32 yards receiving against Dallas last week, could be effective this Sunday going up against a Lions defense that was steamrolled last week by the Rams' Steven Jackson to the tune of 149 yards rushing.

With Edgerrin James splitting the scene in Seattle, look for Justin Forsett, who barely played at Dallas but has displayed flashes, and recently acquired ex-Raider Louis Rankin, who played for Seahawks offensive coordinator Greg Knapp in Oakland, to get more opportunities to strut their stuff.

After sitting out last week, Colts RB Donald Brown (shoulder) has returned to practice and expects to be a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with the Texans. Joseph Addai ran for 20-62-0 in Brown's absence last week, and his carries would take a definite hit if Brown is back in the lineup Sunday.

With Chiefs RB Larry Johnson suspended this week for his derogatory remarks, Jamaal Charles will get the start at Jacksonville. Although he hasn't been used much this season, Charles has shown some pop, rushing for 5.0 yards per carry. His speed and pass-catching ability also makes him a threat on screens and underneath routes. Considering that the Jags just gave up a ridiculous 24-228-2 to the Titans' Chris Johnson last Sunday, Charles makes for a solid flex option this week.

Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams should start in all leagues this week, and Jonathan Stewart is a good pick to start in leagues with 12 teams or more. Carolina will go up against a Saints' run defense that is ranked 11th and was gashed by Michael Turner for 151 yards in Week Eight. Only six teams have given up more rushing TDs than New Orleans, and teams are gaining 4.4 yards per carry against Gregg Williams' defense. Plus, they'll be without key run stuffer, DT Sedrick Ellis.

Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno belongs on the bench in all but the deepest of leagues this week. Denver will be greeted by Pittsburgh's top-ranked run defense on Monday night, and the holes for Moreno should be few and far between. The Steelers have given up just two rushing TDs all season and haven't allowed a run of more than 32 yards.

Yes, the Patriots have only given up one rushing TD all year, but owners should still play Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown this week. New England is yielding an unspectacular 4.5 yards per carry, and Brown should produce solid numbers in this one.

Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall is averaging a TD per start. Thus, it's hard to suggest sitting him, even against a stout Denver defense. The only worry with the talented Mendenhall: He lost a fumble in each of his final two games before the bye. If he keeps that up, he could re-open the door for Willie Parker and Mewelde Moore. But the job looks like it's Mendenhall's long term.

Good news for LenDale White owners: He received a season-best 13 carries in Week Eight vs. Jacksonville. Bad news for LenDale White owners: It's Week Nine, and his Titans teammate, Chris Johnson, is averaging almost seven yards per carry. If Johnson keeps playing this well, White is an end-of-bench fantasy option at best. However, he does have some value to those with Johnson on their rosters, and it wouldn't be a shocker if he were available on waivers in some leagues.

Texans RB Steve Slaton's fumbling has allowed Ryan Moats and Chris Brown to work their way into the mix for more carries. Slaton is the most talented of the Texans' backs, but amazingly, he's the least dependable at this point. How head coach Gary Kubiak will divide the workload remains to be seen, but Moats will have a role in the offense, and Brown could get some short-yardage work, too. Slaton and Moats are best suited as flex plays this week until the roles become more defined in the Houston backfield.

Cowboys RB Marion Barber's thumb appears to be fine, so he is good to go against the Eagles, but their defense poses a stiff challenge.

Eagles head coach Andy Reid sounded optimistic about RB Brian Westbrook (concussion) being ready to go Sunday, but he probably will be monitored closely and might not get a full plate of work with LeSean McCoy playing so well.

Lions RB Kevin Smith's shoulder has kept him out of practice this week, and he might not grade out as a great start against the Seahawks even if he does play.

Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw's ankle will continue to keep him out of some practice, but he still should be able to play Sunday against a Chargers defense that has bent more than expected against the run.

Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew has piled up 310 yards and five touchdowns in his last two outings. Drew figures to get a heavy workload this week against a Kansas City "D" ranked 26th against the run. Additionally, he could get more looks than usual after head coach Jack Del Rio was unhappy with QB David Garrard's decision-making on several audibles in Week Eight. Jones-Drew has 174 scrimmage yards and a pair of touchdowns in two career contests against the Chiefs. Look for his monstrous fantasy production to continue this week.
