Who needs Ed Johnson? Certainly not the Colts, who have been able to get by very well without him thanks to the low-profile but highly effective trio of Dan Muir, Antonio Johnson and Eric Foster. While DEs Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis grab all the headlines with their impressive sack totals, the DT rotation of Muir, Johnson and Foster off the bench has made it much easier for them with their surprisingly strong play inside. The team plucked Antonio Johnson off the Titans' practice squad last November and he immediately did well, starting five games, including the divisional-playoff game. Muir, who had been waived by Green Bay, was overweight last year, but he worked hard to lose 25-30 pounds this past offseason and has proven to be a good fit in the Colts' system. Foster was widely expected to be the odd man out this season. "But he seems to get the job done wherever they put him," one daily team observer said. "He's got very good quickness."

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the second issue being released later this month. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues.
