Redskins owner Daniel Snyder doesn't talk a lot publicly about his team, but the way we hear it he felt pressure to speak with the media about his club's plight amid a 2-5 start and rumors of coaching and front-office strife. Snyder, speaking at a charity event, told local media — in very general terms — that he's disappointed but hopeful the team can turn things around. "I feel sorry for the fans, and we're very, very appreciative of our loyal fan base," he said. "We just feel terrible. We're disappointed. We're embarrassed, and we hope to get it going soon." Questions about the front office and head coach Jim Zorn went unanswered, as did controversies about the team suing season-ticket holders and preventing fans from bringing (often controversial) signs into FedEx Field. Snyder's brief address, however, might be his final public statements until the end of the season — or until decisions are made on the fates of Zorn and executive vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato.
