Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said Wednesday that starting SLB TyJuan Hagler has been placed on injured reserve with a ruptured biceps. Hagler, who was fourth on the team with 36 tackles, is expected to be replaced by second-year LB Philip Wheeler and undrafted rookie Ramon Humber. The Colts also announced that rookie LB Cody Glenn would be promoted to the active roster from the practice squad.

Wheeler, who was primarily a middle linebacker at Georgia Tech, is two inches taller than Hagler and should provide a physical presence. He had a sack, three tackles and one QB hit in the Colts’ victory against the Niners in Week Eight.
