The Chiefs signed free-agent CB Travis Daniels, it was announced Wednesday. To make room for him on the 53-man roster, the team placed S Jarrad Page on injured reserve.
Daniels, a fifth-year veteran, was in training camp with the team but was cut before the regular season kicked off. He has played in 51 games with 26 starts. He was a fourth-round draft choice of the Dolphins in 2005 and played with them for three seasons before playing with the Browns in 2008.
Page, a fourth-year veteran, has a calf injury that reportedly was going to keep him sidelined for a few weeks longer, so the team decided to put him on the shelf in favor of a healthy player.
Jon McGraw is slated to start at free safety, though he also is nursing an undisclosed injury. Daniels has primarily played cornerback but could be pressed into duty at safety in Kansas City.
