The knee injury Texans TE Owen Daniels suffered in Sunday's 31-10 win at Buffalo is a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will require season-ending surgery.

Daniels, a fourth-year veteran who was having a Pro Bowl type of season with 40 catches for 519 yards and five touchdowns, was injured in the first quarter when his foot caught in the artificial turf at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The Texans are expected to start Joel Dreessen in Daniels' place in Week Nine at Indianapolis, with rookie James Casey also getting an expanded role.
