The Chiefs finalized their settlement with suspended RB Larry Johnson on Monday.
According to multiple outlets, Johnson will finish serving out his two-week suspension for anti-gay remarks and criticism toward head coach Todd Haley but will only lose one game check instead of two. Johnson originally would have lost about $630,000, but the settlement will save him roughly $300,000. He will not be eligible for Sunday's game at Jacksonville.
The Chiefs released this statement on Monday:
"The Kansas City Chiefs, in conjunction with the NFL Management Council, the NFL Players Association and RB Larry Johnson have settled all matters related to Johnson’s recent conduct. Johnson will remain suspended through the club’s game at Jacksonville on November 8th. He will not be permitted to participate in any team activities or be on team premises until Monday, November 9th. This matter is now closed, and the Chiefs will have no further comment."
