The rope for Raiders head coach Tom Cable might have shortened in the wake of an ESPN “Outside the Lines” report Sunday morning that detailed accounts by his former wife and a recent girlfriend attesting to his history of violent behavior toward women.

Both Sandy Cable and Marie Lutz said in separate interviews that Cable hit them during relationships dating back more than two decades.

Cable’s temper problems have been in the news since August, when he allegedly broke the jaw of Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson during a skirmish in a coaches meeting. Legal charges were not pursued against Cable due to inconsistencies in Hanson’s story that were not confirmed by three assistants in the room at the time.

Through his attorneys, Cable declined to comment on the “OTL” report. The Raiders play in San Diego later today.
