The Titans signed ex-Jaguars RB-RS Alvin Pearman on Friday, and there's a good chance he will play against his former team on Sunday. Tennessee placed WR-RS Mark Jones on injured reserve to make room for Pearman on the 53-man roster.
Jones suffered a hamstring injury in practice last week that was expected to sideline him for 4-6 weeks. However, the Titans brought in Pearman for a workout Thursday, liked what they saw, and decided to offer him a contract, rather than wait for Jones.
Pearman, a fourth-year veteran, was a fourth-round draft pick of the Jaguars in 2005. He played in 29 games his first two seasons but has played in only four games the past two years. He has career averages of 22.4 yards per kickoff return and 8.6 yards per punt return.
