How can his fantasy owners not be salivating over the memories of what Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald did in the playoffs last season against the Panthers, Arizona's opponent at home this Sunday? In case you forgot, Fitzgerald shredded the Carolina secondary for 166 yards receiving, including a spectacular TD catch-and-run.

Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin had two catches that led to scores in the first half last Sunday against the Giants (3-75-0 total) but was noticeably hobbling on his injured ankle in the second half. Word is Boldin was feeling better in practice in the middle of the week than head coach Ken Whisenhunt expected, which is a good sign.

Colts WR Reggie Wayne is listed as "day-to-day" due to a groin injury suffered last week, but it's hard to imagine him not being in the lineup this Sunday against the Niners, considering that he has made 103 consecutive regular-season starts, the league's longest active streak among receivers. Despite his injured groin last Sunday, Wayne still had a team-high seven catches for 83 yards and a TD against the Rams. His five TDs tie him for second in the league.

Packers WR Donald Driver continues to be one of the biggest fantasy surprises going following another strong effort last Sunday highlighted by his 71-yard TD catch. Meanwhile, WR Jordy Nelson (knee) remains out for another week.

A big fantasy day could be in store for Bears WR Devin Hester, who had his first 100-yard game of the season last week (8-101-1) and his third TD, which ties him for the team lead.

Niners WR Michael Crabtree looks like he could be a fantasy force right away after catching five passes for 56 yards in his debut performance against Houston last Sunday and staying on the field for 48 of San Francisco's 56 offensive plays. Meanwhile, Brandon Jones, who signed for $5.4 million in the offseason but has yet to see much action, is expected to be active this Sunday in Indianapolis.

Seahawks WRs Nate Burleson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who only had a combined six catches for 74 yards in their last game before the team's bye, could have better success against the Cowboys' 22nd-ranked pass "D" this Sunday.

Unlike usual, Falcons WR Roddy White isn't a great play this week. He could surprise with a big game, but the Saints' pass defense has held opposing quarterbacks to a 54.6 rating thus far. White did have a big game in the Superdome last season, gaining 164 yards on 10 catches in Week 14, but this is a much-improved New Orleans secondary compared to a year ago. Plus, White has been held to 56 yards or less in all but one game this season.

Panthers WR Steve Smith bounced back with six catches for 99 yards last week vs. Buffalo, but he still has yet to score a TD. Owners should play Smith against a porous Cardinals' pass defense, which ranks 29th in the league, but TDs will be hard to come by for Smith as long as Jake Delhomme is under center.

Saints WR Devery Henderson is a good play in leagues of 12 teams or more this week. The Falcons' secondary is in bad shape following the season-ending injury to CB Brian Williams, and the defense has given up 277 passing yards or more in four of six games. The fleet-footed Henderson should find himself in some favorable one-on-one matchups.

Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring) was limited in practice on Wednesday after missing the last two games, but he's expected to play on Sunday vs. the Dolphins. Miami will start two rookie cornerbacks, but the Jets have a rookie at quarterback who has been very up-and-down recently after a good start. Keep Cotchery on the bench.

Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker is coming into his own in his second year in the league, averaging 14.2 yards per reception with three touchdowns. Two of his TD grabs came in Week Four against the Titans' struggling secondary that is giving up 310.7 yards each week. Expect another big day from Sims-Walker on Sunday.

Owners of Eagles WR DeSean Jackson should be excited for his penchant for scoring long touchdowns, but a foot injury he suffered against the Redskins left him out of practice on Wednesday and could affect his speed and change-of-direction against the Giants this weekend. You will feel compelled to start him because of his success this season, of course, but don't say we didn't warn you.

Cowboys WR Roy Williams clearly was affected last week by having to wear a flak jacket and was short-arming some catches because his rib injury still hasn't healed fully. It probably will be another 2-3 weeks of pain that he's playing through.

Lions WR Calvin Johnson (knee) practiced Thursday, meaning there is a good shot he will play Sunday against the Rams along with QB Matthew Stafford. The matchup is tasty: The Rams have allowed 24 passes of 20 yards or longer, which is tied for fourth-most in the NFL.

Vikings WR Bernard Berrian might miss Sunday's game against the Packers. He has been slowed by a hamstring injury he suffered Sunday at Pittsburgh, and his role had decreased prior to that, as Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin have been the go-to receivers. Berrian probably should be out of your lineup regardless.

Even with the Browns' passing game sputtering, it might be wise for owners in big leagues to hold on to WR Mohamed Massaquoi, who's averaging 17.6 yards per catch and is the club's only field-stretching threat. If Cleveland's aerial attack ever turns it around, he's likely to be the primary beneficiary, and some who have watched the Browns closely this season have come away impressed with his upside.

It would be no surprise if the Browns use the "Wildcat" a little more in the weeks to come. This enhances WR Josh Cribbs' value ever so slightly, but considering that he's only caught 10-38-0 this season — and that Cleveland has only four offensive TDs in seven games — don't rush out and claim him off waivers just yet.

Texans WR Andre Johnson practiced Thursday, and he's likely to play Sunday at Buffalo. Johnson suffered a lung contusion in Week Seven vs. San Francisco. He's a must-start if he plays.

The Jaguars have the NFL's second-worst pass defense, so there's a case for starting Titans WR Nate Washington in a flex or No. 3 WR role this week, even with QB Vince Young making his first start of the season. Washington has three TD catches this season. Rookie Kenny Britt, who has a team-high 19 catches and has shown he can stretch the field, could also merit a look.

Stat to note: Ravens WR Derrick Mason is averaging 14.7 yards per catch, and he's on pace for eight TDs. Mason is primarily viewed as a move-the-chains possession receiver, but he can still get downfield.

It's getting to the point where Chargers WR Vincent Jackson is an automatic fantasy start regardless of his matchup. That's the case this week against the Raiders, who boast one of the league's best corners in Nnamdi Asomugha. Jackson had 5-56-1 at Oakland in Week One, and given how well he's played lately, an improvement on those numbers would come as no shock.

"It's getting to the point where Chargers WR Vincent Jackson is an automatic fantasy start regardless of his matchup." Hey idiot VJ has been an automatic start for the last 15 games. The seven from this season and the last eight from a season ago. Thanks for giving us this jewel. What's next...Peyton Manning is a top 5 QB? or maybe "All Day" Adrian Peterson is a guy who points and needs to be added. stfu idiot.

@ Ihayes37 Hey idiot, how about having a little decorum? It's his job to report things, even for the less experienced fantasy player. I've been playing since the early 1980s and I'm not insulted. Grow up and find some manners. This website isn't called "Pro Football Weekly For IHayes33."
