Make no mistake: Niners TE Vernon Davis is on fire with a league-leading six touchdown receptions after scoring three last Sunday against the Texans. It will be interesting to see if he and new Niners QB Alex Smith can continue lighting it up against the Colts' stingy defense.
Colts TE Dallas Clark could be in store for a big day this Sunday against a Niners pass defense that had all kinds of problems with Texans TE Owen Daniels last week. Clark had a picturesque 27-yard TD against the Rams last week and remains on pace for 101 catches this season, one short of Tony Gonzalez's league record for tight ends.
It looks like the Packers could be waiting until the last minute to decide whether TE Jermichael Finley (knee injury in Week Seven) will be good to go against the Vikings this Sunday. In the first game against Minnesota this season, Finley had a breakout game with six catches for 128 yards and a 62-yard TD.
Broncos TE Tony Scheffler is a decent play in deep leagues this week vs. the Ravens' 23rd-ranked pass defense. Scheffler is not a reliable week-to-week starter since the Broncos don't force the ball his way, but in a favorable matchup, he could be productive for an owner that needs a spot start from a tight end.
If you're looking for a bye-week fill-in at tight end, the Ravens' Todd Heap (24 catches, 262 yards, two scores) isn't a bad option, particularly in PPR formats. He's quietly having a nice comeback season.
