The dreaded injury bug isn't making things any easier for the down-and-out Rams, with veteran LS Chris Massey and steadily improving rookie CB Bradley Fletcher the latest players to be placed on injured reserve after suffering season-ending knee injuries in the loss to the Colts. While there are much bigger reasons behind the Rams' woeful showing so far this season, having seven players on I.R. just seven games into the regular season certainly isn't helping matters. On a special-teams unit that has been subpar for what seems like an eternity, Massey was arguably the steadiest contributor, whiffing on only one snap (890-of-891) in his eight-year career. As for Fletcher, who was starting in his third straight game, his loss was particularly painful, as we hear he might not be able to return to action until next October at the earliest. "It's really too bad," one team insider said. "He was playing good and really starting to get it, and boom, now he's hurt pretty badly."
