If you're looking for an unsung hero in the Cardinals' rapidly improving defense, look no further than sixth-year S Matt Ware, who team insiders believe has been a real diamond in the rough in the Cardinals' "dime" defense, which they estimate gets him on the field for about 40 percent of the team's defensive plays. The most beneficial thing Ware has done is bring out the best in Pro Bowl SS Adrian Wilson, who wasn't able to freelance as much when Ware was out of the lineup for a few weeks with a shoulder injury. "When Ware is in there, they can bring Adrian up in the box and create a lot more disguises to confuse offenses," said one daily team observer. "He has also started to allow Antrel Rolle to do the same kind of thing in the nickel. He's a real bright guy who knows what he's doing, and he doesn't miss many tackles. With (third-round rookie FS) Rashad Johnson developing more slowly than they'd like, Ware has been a godsend."
