While FS Darren Sharper deservedly has received a great deal of attention for making six interceptions and returning three of them for touchdowns in the first seven games of the season, sources say CB Jabari Greer, who, like Sharper, is in his first season with the club, has made almost as big of an impact on the Saints' defense. It has gone largely unnoticed as Sharper and coordinator Gregg Williams have been highly praised, but Greer has settled into the No. 1 corner role, filling a void that has been glaring in New Orleans for some time. Greer signed a four-year deal in March after spending the first five seasons of his career with the Bills, and observers say he has been the team's most reliable defender in coverage. Teams have begun to target the other starting corner, Tracy Porter, because of it. New Orleans allowed 21 TD passes last season, but it has given up just five in 2009.

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the first issue now ready for mailing. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues.
