Redskins TE Chris Cooley suffered a fractured right ankle in Washington's 27-17 loss to Philadelphia on Monday night and will miss significant time, perhaps the rest of the season.

"He has a break in his ankle on the inner side of his tibia," Redskins head coach Jim Zorn said. "We're quite certain it's broken or fractured in some way, and we'll make a better diagnosis [on Monday]. He will be out for a while until he can heal up. I don't know if it will be a season-ending injury yet."

Cooley, the Redskins' leading receiver, suffered the injury while running a pass route early in the second quarter. Fred Davis replaced him and had his best game as a pro, catching eight passes for 78 yards and one touchdown.
