After declaring earlier this week that he'd be a game-time decision, Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin (ankle) returned to practice in a limited capacity Friday and is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants. The problem is that the contest doesn't kick off until Sunday night, which makes waiting on Boldin risky unless you have another option playing Sunday night or Monday. If Boldin can't go, Steve Breaston would get the start and would be a fine fantasy play. RB Beanie Wells (hip) is also listed as questionable but shouldn't be in your lineup this week regardless of his status.
With RB Fred Taylor (ankle) already out and Sammy Morris set to miss this week with a knee injury, the Patriots' starting job will belong to Laurence Maroney on Sunday. Seeing extended action last week, Maroney came through with 123 yards and a TD on 16 carries against the Titans, and this Sunday he takes on a Buccaneers defense that's allowing 171.7 rushing yards per game. He likely will split time with Kevin Faulk and BenJarvus Green-Ellis, but Maroney should lead the Pats in carries in this enticing matchup. If you're in need of a back to plug in this week, give him serious consideration.
Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery will miss his second straight game Sunday due to a hamstring injury. With Brad Smith (foot) also out, David Clowney will draw the start at Oakland, though he's not much of a fantasy option after finishing with no catches last week. Without Cotchery in the lineup, Braylon Edwards should see a boatload of targets, although that won't necessarily lead to a big game for him. Trying to force the ball to Edwards last week, QB Mark Sanchez wound up throwing five interceptions, and Edwards had just three receptions for 40 yards. Feel free to start the Jets' new wideout, but keep expectations realistic.
For the first time since Week Two, the Cowboys will have their full stable of running backs healthy for this Sunday's game against the Falcons. Following the team's bye week, Marion Barber is over his quad injury and is expected to be the lead back, though Tashard Choice will shoulder some of the workload to keep Barber fresh. Felix Jones (knee) will return after sitting out two games, but his role is still in question; he'll likely wind up being a change-of-pace option. Of the three, Barber is the only one owners should feel safe starting in this one. WR Roy Williams (ribs) will also make his return Sunday, but how much he'll play will depend on how his ribs hold up during the contest.
Despite sitting out practice through Friday, Redskins RB Clinton Portis is expected to start on Monday night vs. the Eagles. Portis is dealing with a slew of injuries to his right leg, most notably a sprained ankle, but he doesn't believe it will keep him out this week. If you haven't been able to unload the back in a trade yet, your time may be running out, as these multiple ailments are likely to catch up to him at some point soon.
Here are the other notable players listed as questionable whose status you should confirm before deploying them: Vikings WR Percy Harvin (shoulder), Bengals WR Chris Henry (illness), Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (Achilles), Raiders WR Chaz Schilens (foot), Browns WR Josh Cribbs (knee) and Buccaneers WR Michael Clayton (hamstring).
