After more than two months of investigations and speculation, Napa County (Calif.) District Attorney Gary Lieberstein announced no charges will be filed against Raiders head coach Tom Cable for his involvement in an alleged incident with former Raiders assistant Randy Hanson.
Hanson accused Cable of attacking him on Aug. 5 during a coaches meeting at the team's training-camp facility in Napa, Calif., and said his jaw was broken in the process. The Napa police department began investigating the case after a delay, when Hanson came forward with the allegations against Cable. The police passed their findings on to Lieberstein, who announced the outcome of his study at a press conference at 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.
After Lieberstein's announcement, the NFL issued the following statement: “We will review the decision announced earlier today by the Napa District Attorney and the facts developed in the underlying investigation. Following that review, we will take appropriate action, if any, under our policies.”
