The Packers couldn't be happier to have newly re-signed veteran OT Mark Tauscher back on board because of the leadership and positive influence he adds to the team's beleaguered offensive line. But we hear it's hardly a given that Tauscher will immediately jump back into the starting role at right tackle that he so ably filled for most of his nine years with the Packers previous to this season. Team sources say that Tauscher still has lot of rehabbing to do from the major knee surgery that ended his 2008 campaign. While he is said to have an outside shot at being able to start in the team's Oct. 25 game against the Browns, we hear a more realistic target date is the team's widely anticipated rematch the following week against the Vikings at Lambeau Field. Also on the O-line front, look for much more of an impact moving forward from rookie T.J. Lang as the backup left tackle behind Chad Clifton.
