The Titans signed veteran CB Rod Hood to bolster their secondary depth on Thursday. To make room for Hood, Tennessee released rookie WR Dominique Edison.

Hood, 28, is in his seventh NFL season. He started 30 games for the Cardinals from 2007-08, but Arizona released him in the offseason. Hood played with Cleveland and Chicago in the preseason.

The Titans are battling a wave of injuries in the secondary. CB Nick Harper (broken forearm) will miss Sunday's game at New England, while CB Cortland Finnegan (hamstring) and FS Michael Griffin (neck) have missed practice this week.

Edison did not appear in a game this season for Tennessee. He played collegiately at Stephen F. Austin.
