The Ravens signed WR David Tyree, whose improbable catch late in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLII helped the Giants secure victory, on Tuesday. To make room for Tyree, the Ravens waived TE Tony Curtis.
Tyree, 29, caught 54 passes for 650 yards with four touchdowns in six seasons with New York. The Giants cut him at the end of training camp after he battled groin, hamstring and knee injuries throughout the summer.
Tyree, known primarily as a special-teams ace before his leaping, 32-yard catch in Super Bowl XLII, could immediately contribute on the Ravens' coverage teams.
