Panthers DE Julius Peppers is off to a slow start, and outside observers aren't the only ones who have noticed. He's making more than $1 million per game while playing under the one-year franchise tag, but made only one sack in the first three games of the season and has just four tackles since Week One as the Panthers stumbled to an 0-3 start, putting head coach John Fox on the hot seat. During a weekly appearance on a Charlotte sports radio station Oct. 8, MLB Jon Beason, who is one of the most respected players in Carolina's locker room, said he would be having a talk with Peppers about Peppers' lackluster start and that the conversation "would be brief and to the point." While Beason maintained that he would not be criticizing Peppers, it's clear that Peppers' teammates would like to see a better effort from the four-time Pro Bowler as the club tries to dig itself out of a deep hole.
