Down-to-the-wire games. An offense whose collective cool has impressed. A defense playing soundly and physically. All of these things have marked the Bengals’ strong start to the season. However, one major problem has cropped up: some shaky play on placekicks. LS Brad St. Louis has struggled throughout the season, and a pair of high snaps helped contribute to a blocked field goal and a blocked extra point in the Week Four overtime win at Cleveland. The Bengals had ex-Cardinals LS Nathan Hodel in for a visit and worked out ex-Bills LS Ryan Neill before the Week Five game at Baltimore. Also, per The Cincinnati Enquirer, ex-Texans LSs Clark Harris and Bryan Pittman worked out for the club on Oct. 8. The snapping issues aren’t helping PK Shayne Graham, who barely made the 31-yard game-winning field goal at Cleveland, and if they persist, it will be no surprise if the Bengals make a change.

PFW has launched its brand-new NFL Draft Newsletter series, with the first issue now ready for mailing. Produced by PFW's player personnel department under the direction of Nolan Nawrocki, the series consists of four information-packed issues.
