Blame the offensive line. But don't blame only the offensive line. That's the word coming out of Miami regarding the absolute mauling that Chad Henne took in his first career start against the Bills in Week Four, when he was sacked six times by a defensively challenged crew. Although heavy-footed OTs Vernon Carey and Jake Long aren't walling off the edges as well as they should, the running backs aren't doing their part chipping, and the tight ends haven't provided much help, either. Furthermore, Henne can point the finger at himself for holding on to the ball too long. The way we hear it, Henne will need to hasten his progressions if he hopes to avoid further beatings. The coaches are already keeping extra protection around the pocket, and there aren't any readily apparent schematic adjustments they can make without gutting their entire offense. As it is, the "Wildcat" became a Miami staple in 2008 to account for the club's pass-protection liabilities.
