Forget the talk about the lack of sacks for Cowboys OLB DeMarcus Ware. Although he has yet to notch his first this season, Ware has played well, despite a painful neck injury. Teams have not been double-teaming Ware, per se, though they often have slanted protection in his direction and use backs to chip him on their way out to pass routes, along with teams opting to move their offense in the direction of OLB Anthony Spencer, who has not become a pass-rushing threat at all. Ware has been getting pressure on pass plays and has been within a whisker of getting his first sack of the season several times. More importantly, he's playing the run well and not succumbing to overpursuit, one of his bugaboos in the past. Ware told PFW this offseason he didn't care about his sack total, provided he's creating pressure — and he's doing that. The Cowboys also do not believe that Ware will begin to press on the verge of free agency because he will get paid what he's due one way or another.
