Giants LB Michael Boley underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus in his right knee on Tuesday morning and will be out about four weeks.

The surgery was performed by team physician Dr. Russell Warren at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Boley was just coming into his own with a strong game Sunday at Kansas City in which he had four tackles for loss and two passes defended. Despite suffering the injury during the game, Boley did not sit out a play.

He missed much of training camp following a hip injury and was forced to sit out Week One because of a one-game suspension.

The likely candidates to replace Boley include Chase Blackburn, who has filled in at the “Will” LB spot before, and Bryan Kehl, who has been outstanding on special teams.
