Giants QB Eli Manning had an MRI on his injured right heel Monday morning, and it was determined he has plantar fasciitis, or inflammation.
The Giants are listing him as day-to-day.
“Eli will continue to receive treatment, and he will be day to day as we prepare for Sunday’s game,” said VP of medical services Ronnie Barnes.
Manning was injured in a non-contact situation during the Giants' 27-16 victory over Kansas City Sunday. He experienced swelling and soreness Monday morning, prompting the MRI.
His status for the team's Week Five home game against the Raiders is uncertain. It appears he can play as long as he can tolerate the pain, and Manning has proven to be a quick healer in his young career.
"I don't think it's nothing to be worried about," Manning said Monday before the MRI results were known. "It will be getting rid of the soreness."
