After putting quite a scare into them with his sudden back surgery this past offseason, we're told the Bears couldn't be more pleased with veteran CB Charles Tillman, who hasn't missed a beat despite missing significant practice time leading up to the regular season. "He might have been a little tentative in the opener, but it was amazing that he was even out there after not doing anything at all until about a week before the game," said one daily team observer of Tillman, who forced the Bears' first turnover of the season with an interception of Ben Roethlisberger in the team's huge Week Two victory over the Steelers. "He's the kind of player that you don't always notice when he's out there. But when he's not there, you really notice it. He's not a shutdown corner. Receivers will catch a lot of balls in front of him, and there are other corners with a lot better speed. But he's a big, physical defender who does everything else exceptionally well."
