Another year, another stifling Ravens’ run defense. Baltimore allowed just 153 yards rushing in its first three games and was the only AFC team not to surrender a rushing touchdown. With the Ravens that stingy vs. the run, opponents have had no choice but to try and attack with the pass, and that’s where Baltimore has struggled somewhat early this season. Starting CBs Dominique Foxworth and Fabian Washington, while boasting good speed and quickness, lack height and bulk and can be vulnerable against bigger receivers; both had their problems with the Chargers’ Vincent Jackson. Look for teams to continue to forgo the run and test the Ravens’ secondary, even if that gives Baltimore the chance to utilize another traditional strength: rushing the passer. Baltimore notched seven sacks in the first three games.
