As expected, Marc Bulger will not be the starting quarterback for the Rams this Sunday in their game against the division-rival Niners in San Francisco. Head coach Steve Spagnuolo indicated Friday that backup Kyle Boller, who ignited a spark in the Rams’ offense in relief of the injured Bulger last week against the Packers, will get the call under center. Bulger, who suffered a bruised rotator cuff in the first quarter against Green Bay, could dress as the third quarterback behind Bulger and rookie Keith Null.

“He (Bulger) did not do any throwing; took snaps, did some hand-offs,” Spagnuolo said Friday. ”We’ve got 48 more hours on the throwing part of it. If he had to throw, we’ll see if he can do it Sunday in an emergency situation.”
