Oklahoma TE Jermaine Gresham will enter the draft following the season, Sooners head coach Bob Stoops acknowledged during his weekly press conference.

Out for the year after having surgery to repair cartilage in his knee, Gresham could have redshirted this season, having played as a true freshman and not yet having taken a snap, but instead returned for his senior season. Had he declared last year, he projected as a first-round talent and could have been selected ahead of Oklahoma State's Brandon Pettigrew, taken 20th overall by the Lions.

Despite the injury, he is still regarded as the nation's top tight end, but whether he fits into the top 25, as was expected prior to the injury, is questionable. An injured Heath Miller fell to the bottom of the first round in 2005 despite possessing greater talent than where he was selected. Arizona junior TE Rob Gronkowski also is out for the season after undergoing back surgery, meaning this year's TE crop will be clouded by durability questions.
