Part 2 of 5

The NFL draft is more than seven months away, but Pro Football Weekly personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki has already invested months of work in the player evaluation process. This year, PFW is proud to introduce the latest product in its line of pre-draft periodicals — the Draft Newsletter series. For $24.95, you will receive four Nawrocki-authored newsletters that are designed to keep you up-to-date on the latest happenings as they relate to the NFL draft — including the most-respected player reports and rankings available anywhere.

To give you a taste of what you will receive when you subscribe to this wildly popular new product, we are releasing some of the 222 scouting reports that appear in the first installment of the newsletter. We are counting down the top 15 senior prospects, so be sure to check back daily for the latest player reports.

The numbers in parentheses after each player indicate height, weight and 40-time — "E" means height, weight and speed are estimated or from an outside source; "e" means only the 40-yard-dash time is estimated or from an outside source.

12. DT Terrence Cody, #62
(6-3 5⁄8, 373, 5.78) Alabama

Massive, big-bellied, naturally strong, long-armed space eater who can occupy multiple blockers and clog the middle of the defense and stuff the run. Excellent press strength to lock out and control blockers. Dominant at the point of attack and easily can handle the double-team. Is immovable and can collapse the pocket and re-establish the line of scrimmage in the backfield. Is not quick or sudden to rush the passer and lacks any explosiveness, but can move his feet well for as gargantuan as he is. A staunch, one-dimensional, two-down run defender who needs to play in a rotation to stay fresh, Cody can clog the middle of a "30" front in the same mold as Ted Washington. Has struggled to control his weight and could eat himself out of the league if he is not closely monitored and supplied extra motivation.

Projected round: 1-2

11. WR Brandon LaFell, #1
(6-2 3⁄8, 207, 4.55e) LSU

A big, strong, productive receiver who would have warranted strong mid-to-late first-round consideration had he declared for the 2009 NFL draft, as he initially did before rescinding his name, LaFell's overall maturity is the biggest question he faces, as he possesses a prima donna attitude similar to many elite receivers in the NFL and will require maintenance. Similar to Dwayne Bowe, LaFell can power off the line and beat the jam, plays physical and wins matchups with his body strength and hand quickness. Sells his routes, understands how to uncover and attacks the ball in the air. Tough and competitive and will deliver some devastating blocks. Strong, competitive runner after the catch. Struggled catching the ball consistently early in his career and he still has his share of drops, with small 81⁄2-inch hands, but he showed improvement during the second half of the season as a junior. Has the physical tools to develop into a solid "Z" receiver if he can stay focused and learn what it means to work.

Projected round: 1-2

10. CB Patrick Robinson, #21
(5-11 1⁄8, 192, 4.4e) Florida State

Very good-sized, well-defined, exceptional athlete with fluid hips, quick feet and terrific ball skills. Looks every bit the part. Has good strength to re-route receivers at the line and is effective playing press or off coverage. Comes out of his breaks quickly and drives on the ball. Very good recovery quickness if he gets out of position. Has the speed and athletic ability to match up against great size and speed. Does not have great zone awareness and could react more quickly — reading routes, reacting to the thrown ball and supporting the run — and show better coverage instincts. Is a selective tackler and shies from some contact but can tackle in the open field. Is slated to move from the boundary to the field as a senior and could break out. The most talented athlete to play for the Seminoles since Antonio Cromartie, Robinson has very legitimate first-round talent, but needs to play more consistently and show that he can handle covering more ground as a senior to solidify his status.

Projected round: 1
