1. Pittsburgh Steelers: So much for the Super Bowl hangover.

2. New England Patriots: This Brady character looks like he's got some game.

3. New York Giants: Nicks + Manningham > Plax? Early returns are promising.

4. Philadelphia Eagles: You just know Jim Johnson's grinning upstairs.

5. San Diego Chargers: Certainly have the talent. Don't want another slow start.

6. Indianapolis Colts: No Marvin and now possibly no Gonzalez. Still, don't doubt 'em.

7. Dallas Cowboys: Statement made, 'Boys.

8. Tennessee Titans: That's about as good as a team can look in defeat.

9. Minnesota Vikings: Peterson's 64-yard romp some quality highlight-reel fodder.

10. Baltimore Ravens: Looks like we might need to take this offense seriously.

11. Atlanta Falcons: Tony Gonzalez defies all medical laws concerning age.

12. New Orleans Saints: Bell gets nod over Bush. How the mighty have fallen.

13. Green Bay Packers: And to think Alex Smith was taken over Aaron Rodgers.

14. Chicago Bears: That's not going to help Cutler's clout in Chi-town.

15. New York Jets: Tough to find any fault in that tail-whipping of the Texans.

16. Seattle Seahawks: Guess we needed a reminder that they once ruled the NFC West.

17. Arizona Cardinals: Don't warm up just yet, Leinart. But take off the ballcap.

18. Carolina Panthers: DeAngelo at quarterback, J-Stew at running back. Seriously.

19. San Francisco 49ers: Patrick Willis resembling his head coach more and more.

20. Washington Redskins: Gotta feel for decent club having no shot in gauntlet East.

21. Miami Dolphins: One-year wonder prognostications looking legit.

22. Denver Broncos: Seven days of free meals for Stokley around town.

23. Houston Texans: About that turbocharged offense ...

24. Jacksonville Jaguars: MJD's up to the task. Garrard, maybe not so much.

25. Buffalo Bills: Team starving for leadership, ability to finish.

26. Cincinnati Bengals: Defense actually shows some bite.

27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Never thought they'd miss Monte Kiffin that much.

28. Kansas City Chiefs: Good effort for three quarters more than '08 team could say.

29. Cleveland Browns: Wow, that covert QB intrigue really paid off, Mangini.

30. Oakland Raiders: Decent start but couldn't hold off talented Chargers.

31. Detroit Lions: Here's hoping young Stafford took notes on Brees' performance.

32. St. Louis Rams: Like mom told us, if you don't have anything nice to say ...
