The Texans could have an interesting training-camp battle at nose tackle, with DelJuan Robinson and Travis Johnson competing for playing time. Johnson, who is entering the final year of his contract, struggled with hamstring, pelvic and knee injuries in offseason workouts, which frustrated head coach Gary Kubiak. Johnson, who has never played all 16 games in any of his previous four NFL seasons but has notched 27 starts in the last two campaigns, is no sure bet to beat out Robinson for the starting job. Robinson started three games a season ago and practiced with the first-team defense in offseason workouts. No matter the winner of the starting NT job, though, we're hearing the Texans are likely to look to bolster the position in the seasons to come. Johnson's return to Houston is no sure thing, even if he improves his play in 2009, a source close to the club told PFW.
