WR Lance Moore was limited throughout the offseason while recovering from shoulder surgery, but the Saints are optimistic that he won’t be adversely affected, even if he has to wade into the training-camp routine while finishing off his rehab later this month. Moore is coming off a career season in which he made 79 catches for 928 yards and 10 touchdowns. His fortunes shifted greatly, however, in the offseason when he tore his left labrum and dislocated his shoulder during a workout, which led to surgery in April. Some have pegged Moore as a potential one-year wonder who could come back to earth in 2009, especially if WR Robert Meachem shows improvement in his third year and is targeted more, but close observers of the team say Moore won’t be cast aside. He has developed a strong connection with QB Drew Brees and is held in high regard by head coach Sean Payton.
