The Raiders signed Jaguars UFA OT Khalif Barnes on Saturday. According to ESPN.com, the contract is for one year.
Barnes, who turns 27 in April, started all 16 games at left tackle for the Jaguars in 2008. In four seasons with Jacksonville, Barnes played 60 games and logged 57 starts.
Barnes is expected to start at left tackle for the Raiders.
Veteran WR Joey Galloway has agreed to a one-year deal with the Patriots, according to several reports. WDAE, a radio station in Tampa, was first to report the story.
Galloway, who was released by the Bucs on Feb. 25, was plagued by a foot injury for much of last season and fell out of favor with then-head coach Jon Gruden. Galloway, 37, appeared in nine games and had 13 catches for 138 yards.
The 15th-year veteran posted three straight seasons in which he had more than 1,000 yards receiving from 2005-07 while with the Bucs. Galloway has 682 receptions for 10,710 yards and 77 touchdowns in his career.
The Lions and Seahawks have agreed to a trade, according to various reports. Detroit will send DT Cory Redding and a fifth-round pick to Seattle for LB Julian Peterson.
Redding, a seventh-year veteran, has started at least 13 games for the Lions in each of the past five seasons. He had 38 tackles and three sacks in 2008 before landing on injured reserve with knee and groin injuries. Redding had a career-high eight sacks in '06.
Peterson, a five-time Pro Bowler, will turn 31 on July 28. He had 86 tackles and five sacks in 16 games last season. The Seahawks were unable to get Peterson to agree to a pay cut before dealing him.
The Browns announced a pair of free-agent additions late Friday, signing LB Eric Barton and OG Floyd Womack to contracts.
Barton has familiarity with Browns head coach Eric Mangini, having been a starter for him while with the Jets over the previous three seasons. The 11th-year veteran had 119 tackles and 1½ sacks last season.
Womack spent the previous nine seasons with the Seahawks. He started 14 games in 2008 and has made 47 starts in his career.
